December
On November 30th, Matthew got to come home for two weeks for military leave. My niece and I picked him up from the airport about 9pm and I think he slept for about an entire day after we got home. I did not see my son as much as I wanted to but it was good to have him home. I took him back to the airport on December 15th along with his two little brothers. It was sad for us to see him go but Matthew was ready. He already called to say that he had made it safely back to Afghanistan. It will be September before we have him home again. When I told Matthew that it would be a long 9 months waiting on him, he reminded me that I waited on him for 9 months once before and it would pass quickly. I miss him so bad but he loves what he is doing and is so proud to serve his country. I am more proud of him than ever!!

Having a Family, Job and Homework...........
I am a wife, mom, full time career person and a college student. Juggling all these things can be stressful at times but I wouldn't change a thing. Learning to look at life's stressful moments as opportunities is something that I strive to do.
I am married with four sons and I am so happy to have each one of them in my life. Here goes my introduction:
Matthew is 20 years old and is a US Army combat engineer currently stationed in Afghanistan.
